14. Harai-waza
An offensive technique that upset the opponent's center to create opening(s) for attacks

A technique to strike while going backward

Level 1 - One level below black belt in comparison to other martial art belts system

Short for Issoku-Itto-no-maai - one step striking distance

Upper guard position; In Kendo, the guard is positioned with the Shinai above the head at a 45 degree angle
21. Judan
Tenth degree; 10th degrees black belt in comparison to other martial art belts system. In Kendo, Judan is an honorary title that granted by the emperor of Japan and the Kendo community - it cannot be obtained as a rank through testing.
22. Kaeshi
A technique to block then counter the opponent's attack
23. Kakarigeiko
10-15 seconds open targets exercise; one person opens target, the other person keeps on attacking. This exercise is to learn Zanshin and continuous attacks, and focus on using smaller techniques. Motodachi (receiver) may block or counter.
