Although the 2009 MWKF Summer Camp is not officially posted on the MWKF website just yet. It is most likely to be held at the Michigan State University on August 7-9. Yamanaka (8th Dan Hanshi) and Saito sensei’s (8th Dan Kyoshi) are back once again this year, in addition that there might a be a 6th Dan female sensei from Japan. (more…)

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009Cleveland 2009 Tournament is coming up, and I apologize for not keeping the latest news around the federation current. The tournament will be held on April 17-19 and visit the Cleveland Kendo Association website for forms and detail information.

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009First of all, I have noticed the website had been slowing down to a halt sometimes. I won’t bore you with the technical details, but I am working on it to make it runs fast again. I had trouble updating the site myself, but I apologize for the technical difficulties. Promotional Information
The deadline for turning in the application is Febuary 6th. You can also find the promotional application on the MWKF website. Thank your lucky star that Tyler Zimmerman sempai is now our MWKF VP of promotion, so you can hand him the application directly.

Sunday, December 14th, 2008I apologize in the last post I mentioned there will be new year party on the 20th, actually the party is on 1/3/09. Although, the dojo will still be closed after the 20th until January 3rd.
20th MWKF Taikai Aftermath
Monday, October 20th, 2008First of all, thank you to all volunteers and participants who made the 20th MWKF Tournament possible. Without you, it would not be possible.
Secondly, we would like to congratulate all the winners of the tournament, and Cochran sensei won 2nd place in Seniors! Results will be posted later this week on this website and the MWKF website. So stay tuned!
Finally, we would like to congratulate the following Minnehaha members who have successfully passed their exams on Sunday:

Actually, one more announcement. University of Wisconsin will be hosting a team practice on November 15 & 16. More detail will soon follow.

Kawashimo sensei visits!
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008This is a very short notice! Kawashimo sensei is visiting us tonight and this Saturday. Kawashimo sensei will return to Japan next week, so come join us! Please be at the dojo at 7:30 tonight and ready to go by 8:00, and please be ON TIME on Saturday so we can start as 3:30!
Besides that, congratulations to Narumoto sensei who took 2nd place at the Nationals, and our MWKF team took 3rd place!!!
