Monday, November 16th, 2009Well, for those who didn’t participate at the 21st MWKF Tournament, here’s quick summary:
- Lyfonge and Nate got 3rd in Mudansha division!
- We all passed our gradings! Amanda sempai, me, and Justin are now Nidan! Hana is now Shodan! Lastly, Lyfonge is now Ikkyu!
No Class on Saturday Nov 13 & 14
Sunday, November 8th, 2009Due to almost everyone is heading to Chicago for the 21st Annual Midwest Kendo Tournament this coming weekend, there will not be classes on Friday the 13th, and Saturday the 14th. Class will resume on Nov 18th.
Special practice & 21st MWKF Tournament
Monday, September 14th, 2009On 10/10, Saturday – we will have a joint practice with other dojo’s visiting from other states. The practice time will be as usual, 3:30-5:30, but please be there a bit early.
On 10/11, Sunday – we will be practicing Shiai (competition) matches; meaning we will set up our dojo just like a Shiaijo (match arena) with a timer, and 3 referees to judge valid points. Beginners; even without Bogu are welcome to watch the practice matches so that you get a feel of how actual matches are like and learn to what are valid scores. The practice will go from 9:00 am-noon, please be ready to go by 9:15am. (more…)
